Paper, Watercolor
In this piece, the artist uses watercolor to express her current feelings about an event that literally marked her childhood. It is the origin story of a scar just beneath her right eyebrow. An event that was painful as a child but she now looks upon feeling regretful but at peace with the event. This is why the portrait appears stoic and distant, as if the subject is looking through you. The background seems out of focus while the character and emotion are at the forefront of the painting.
