Yellow Roses
18”X14”
Oil Paint, Canvas Board, Dried Flowers, Fake Flowers
The artwork shown, “Yellow Roses”, features a painted woman surrounded by dried yellow flowers. The woman is artist’s grandmother who recently passed. The photo is her grandfather’s favorite picture of her Grandmother when she was younger. The dried yellow roses were taken from her funeral and dried them herself. The yellow represents life and brightness. While the artist typically gravitates towards darker colors or emotions portrayed, she wanted this painting to be a bright and happy representation of a memory that is anything but.
