In this piece, The Curse of Growth, Litvak explores the nature of growing throughout life, and the pain that comes with it. This piece includes three banners of paper hanging next to each other, each with a symbol of a stage of growth. The first contains a caterpillar, the second, a chrysalis, and the third with a butterfly. Each painting is done in acrylic and is swarmed by a mass of black acrylic in Litvak’s classic style. Each painting is backed with black paper and mounted above his ceramic work. This piece tied in beautifully with the rest of the young artists work, and gives us a further glimpse into the reality of his past.
