My ceramic works center around themes of nature, imagination, self expression and escaping the real world. In these themes I use many special glazes which are often unpredictable in their results and have an element of surprise to them. Nature has always been really important to me and my pieces are a way for me to touch on that importance while also acknowledging how much nature is being destroyed for modern life in cities. I use my work as a way to communicate the unease of the loss of nature while also still being able to find the hidden beauties of the natural world. I have a focus on feelings of dysphoria finding a balance and appreciation for oneself even when you are uncomfortable in your own skin.
